An award-winning small organisation, operating for 23 years this year, North Lanarkshire Carers Together are a carer led charity based within the heart of North Lanarkshire. We are the commissioned organisation in North Lanarkshire providing Campaigning, Information and Representation of carers, and an independent advocacy service for adult carers. We also provide a Family Support Service funded by North Lanarkshire Council.

About the position:

Carer Advocacy and Carer Information & Engagement Worker (30 hours per week)

Salary: NLCT2 (£26,800 – £28,768 FTE)

Contract: Permanent

Working across 2 teams within Carers Together – To work as part of the Carer Information & Engagement Team to deliver an overarching campaigning, information, and carer representation service in North Lanarkshire.  This will include the development and provision of accessible, quality, and comprehensive information to help identify carers and signpost or link them to relevant supports.  The post will also forge active links between carers and professionals to ensure that carers’ voices are heard in the development of local service provision, and work with key partners to deliver local campaigns linked to key themes.

Operate as an Advocacy Worker, carrying a caseload of carers requiring Independent Advocacy support. The role will focus on the delivery and on-going development of a needs led service by empowering carers to express their views, wishes and choices, ensuring that adult carers are fully involved in decisions which affect their lives and have proper and full access to their rights.
